(Tempo) Patrice Capella-Nasdem: KIH Awaits PAN Standing on Lieu of Pilkada
The National Democrat (NasDem) Party’s secretary general Patrice Rio Capella said his coalition would not initiate a meeting with any party. Patrice added, however, his coalition was open to discussions and cooperation with anyone.
"For example, yesterday SBY (Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono) was the one who initiated the meeting with Jokowi,” he said on Tuesday, December 9, 2014.
According to Patrice, the meeting between SBY and Jokowi was aimed at the government regulation in lieu of law (Perppu) on direct elections of regional heads.
The Perppu is slated for ratification at the period of House meetings, which will kick off on January 12, 2015. “Besides on the Perppu, I have no idea what the meeting was all about,” Patrice said.
When asked whether the National Mandate Party (PAN) would jump ship, Patrice said it was possible, but added both the party and its chair, Hatta Radjasa, had yet to make contact with him. “We are ready to have discussions with anybody,” he said.
Earlier, the Golkar Party’s National Conference in Bali decided to decline the Perppu, which led to SBY’s claiming the Golkar Party had double-crossed the Democrat Party: the Golkar Party agreed to support the Perppu on condition that Democrats threw their weight behind the Prabowo-led coalition at the House of Representatives.
